BioNeel was born on December 8th, 1983 in Rorschach,Switzerland from a Swiss Mother and an Indian Father. He still has strong family connections in India as well as in Switzerland. Neel's career began in karts in 1996, at the age of 12. He started off in the mini class, progressing, over the next couple of years to Junior winning several races. In 2000, aged 16, he made the switch to single-seaters becoming Swiss Champion of the Formula Lista Junior, winning 8 races and being 4 times second in 12 races. In 2001, he contested the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup, whilst also participating in a number of rounds of the Italian Formula Renault series. For 2002 he remained with the Formula Renault 2000 Eurocup, finishing second in the championship. 2003 saw him move up to the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, finished second again, he also took part in a F1 test for the Swiss Team Sauber-Petronas. In 2004 he shared his time between the Formula Renault V6 Eurocup, switching to the DAMS team for which he gained 9 poles and also contested a round of the FIA GT Championship and one F1 test for the newly formed Red Bull Racing Team. He then became part of the Red Bull Junior Team. In 2005 he moved to the new GP2 series. Some spirited performances, including two wins at the Hungaroring and Monza, saw Neel finish seventh in the inaugural championship. In late 2005, Neel represented Switzerland in the new A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motor sports and following some excellent performances finally broke the French team's stranglehold on the championship by taking a well-deserved win in Dubai. He finished second of the championship. For 2006, as part of the Red Bull Junior Team, Neel was named as test, and third driver for F1 Team Scuderia Toro Rosso, the former Minardi F1 team purchased by Red Bull in late 2005.
